IN ASSOCIATION WITH ORANGE COAST COLLEGE
We are deeply saddened by the loss of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna, as well as Orange Coast College head baseball coach John Altobelli, his wife Keri and daughther Alyssa, and all the other precious people who were victims of the tragic helicopter accident in Calabassas today.
Just three months ago, Kobe spoke at the 16th annual Orange County Children’s Book Festival. His message to the fans about his love of country and his passion for helping kids read will be always remembered by those of us who were fortunate enough to be there and to meet him.
Kobe had countless plans to inspire young people to read, and wanted kids to see themselves as super heroes.
John Altobelli was a legend at Orange Coast College where he coached baseball for 27 years, leading the Pirates to 4 state titles. He was known for his passion for the game, and his commitment to the athletes.
Our thoughts and condolences are with the Bryant family, the Altobelli familly, and all those who lost loved ones today.
Now in our 17th year!
