Volunteers

Be a part of the Orange County Children’s Book Festival team and join the fun! We are always looking for volunteers year round and during the Festival for set-up and break-down.  Join us for a fun and rewarding day.  You’ll make new friends and make a difference in the lives of young readers and families alike.

Prior to the Festival
The Festival has an organizing committee of wonderful people that love children, reading and literacy.  We conduct our meetings via telephone conference call and as the Festival date nears we met in person on the campus of Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa.

  • Organizing committee
  • Chair positions
  • Counting and stuffing of book markers for OC schools and libraries
  • Telephone calling
  • Mail stuffing
  • Festival marketing posters and bookmark deliveries
    • Schools and local businesses
  • Children’s nonprofit contacts and literacy programs research
  • Exhibitor support

The second need for volunteers is during the Festival.  There are lots of openings for participation on many levels and abilities.   We welcome everyone’s help!

    • This is in cooperation with Timeless Learning, Inc. (dba The Orange County Children’s Book Festival), the Irvine Kiwanis Club, and Vision Screening Services, a organization of trained Optometric professionals.  Volunteers are needed for assistance at each screening day.
  • OC Department of Education’s Young Authors Fair
    • Each May, the OC Children’s Book Festival partners with OC Department of Education’s Young Authors Fair.  Volunteers are needed to promote the OC Children’s Book Festival and congratulate the aspiring children’s authors.
